102 Year Old Breaks the Record

Have you ever noticed how anybody over 60 and still able to walk is called sprightly? Well perhaps this time the man in question deserves the description. As “sprightly” Dan Clement is set to become the world’s oldest best man. Dan will “do the honours” for groom Sandy Little, 73, and 69-year-old Susan Davey.

Dan is from Bridge of Dee in Dumfries and is 102 years old. He is already a great-grandfather, but he thinks this will be his last stint as a best man.

The current title of world’s oldest best man is held by 96-year-old Ronald Hornby from Northern Ireland.

Sandy the Groom who lives in Cornwall, said: “We decided to get married at the Mission Hall in Bridge of Dee because my mum and grandmother were from Ringford and I have known uncle Dan all my life.”
