Border Fine Arts,  More Than the Sum of Its Parts-

Over Forty Years of Affordable Arts

I wanted to write a poem in the style of my beloved William Topaz McGonagall to mark the passing of that fount of craft and art that is and will soon be no more Border Fine Arts, but I thought some things are too sad to commemorate in doggerel verse, but will instead tell you a few facts about this remarkable set of people who have brought beautiful lifelike sculpted art into many a home and employed many a skilled artisan in their home village of Langholm in the beautiful Esk Valley deep in the Border Country.

Attention to Detail in Every Line

From the very stirrings of the project they sought accuracy, paid great attention to detail and made sure all was high quality in design and throughout all of the creative process. With Border Fine Arts ‘s passing there is now no high quality figurine manufacturer left in the country which controls the process  in house from start to hand painted finish.

The company was set up by sculptor Ray Ayres and he has worked with a team of talented individuals to make these wondrous little gems. They are having their last annual fair at Deene Park, Corby, Northamptonshire - children under 16 go free. That is on Saturday 17th September 2016 10.30 am to 4pm. After that I am afraid that rest is silence.

Remains of the Day

So when we say it is the last chance to buy, we sadly mean it. Fierce collectors of the future may vie with each other over the fine examples that they made, but there will be no more after September 12.  If you see something that catches your fancy in the Border Fine Arts Range now then we’ll do our best to secure it for you.
