The Curse of the Priority Line
I hate these special lines and passes that allow you to ride roughshod over the rest of humanity. The gold card, the black card, the access all areas pass that doesn’t let you into the VIP area, never mind the VVIP area. Now this mentality is coming to Edinburgh Airport.
Don’t Want to Wait with the Hoi Polloi
Don’t fancy queuing with the hoi polloi, then cross our palm with a fiver and you too can jump the queue and be first in line at the passport desk. That’s the message from Edinburgh Airport who say you can soon pay to skip passport queues, under new plans to ease congestion. The reason for this is cuts in the Border Force, but it’s an ill wind, etc. The service will be trialled in the near future.
Frisked at the Border in More Ways Than One
The new scheme will be a joint venture between the Home Office and the UK Border Force. Already for the Marks and Sparks price of £4.99 you can use a priority security lane to be frisked by a better class of luggage inspector. I don’t think so! For those poor souls arriving at this proud nation’s capital it is just another way to put a hand into the tourist’s pocket before they even officially set foot on Scottish soil!
Special Treatment – For All!
Now here at James Pirie we offer everyone special treatment and you don’t have to pay to jump any queue, line or obstacle. As a family run company we don’t regard the customer as anything except a most valued individual. Mind you if I can point you in the direction of the end of line sales and the great value thereon we might both be pleased - that is one line we won’t object to you jumping.
