Sunday Lunch and Visitors –

Floral Gift Leaves Us in a Quandary

I'll light the fire, you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today.

Staring at the fire for hours and hours while I listen to you

Well we are really in the midst of spring. We had visitors for lunch and we did a grand piece of lamb and a lovely vegetarian spiced cauliflower dish. You have to cover all the bases these days. No one automatically assumes that everyone eats meat at all these days. And with the fuss and clamour about health there are legitimate concerns about too much meat, certainly about too much processed meat. And of course visitors always bring a little gifty. In the case of toady it was a nice bottle of red wine and some smashing spring flowers.

Our house, is a very, very, very fine house

Our House

Now hence the quandary: We didn’t have a right size or shape of vase for the flowers and so after our visitors left we spent an inordinate amount of time hunting for one. It was a shame to leave them in a silly looking vase and we were lucky and after much searching of cupboards we found a vase that was just about okay. It wasn’t perfect, but the flowers were. The song was written by Graham Nash when he lived with Joni Mitchell. Well in those circumstances you would write a song wouldn’t you?

Mum’s House

So if you are looking to give the woman in your life a great present for Mother’s Day this week then why not follow the example of Joni Mitchell and  buy a great vase and have somewhere special for those spring flowers.  Try this lovely new product the Royal Scot Crystal - Woodland Fern Large Flared Vase. It’s gift boxed and at half price. Can’t say better can you? It’s a stylish and imaginative hand cut design referencing theexotic scenes found on fancy furniture and porcelain.
