No Trips to the Garage Shop Please!

Now my missus’s birthday is the 8th February so that puts me hard to it to get something right for Valentine’s day. And as a relative newly-wed I suppose I should try harder than most. But I got the birthday present sorted last September when I was in Portugal and had it shipped home, it was fine porcelain and so very much on the money- matching stuff she had from first time around. It was also an apology of sorts as we were on a tennis holiday and on the first day walking in flip flops I got severe plantar faciitis, yes count the vowels. Fascia is the Latin name for a tendon so basically I had tendon trouble in the heel. My Achilles was basically too stiff and so I lumbered round the court refusing to give up and annoying the wife. “Last sports holiday we go on!” Well the rehabilitation took six weeks, so the present had to be spectacular to make up for the holiday spoiling, luckily it was! No it is thinking cap on for St Valentine.

And of course my hero Sir Andy has his own bit of rehabilitation to do after his successful hip skimming operation where they basically give you a metal hip. Good luck with that one at the airport Sir Andy! They’ll always have to search you now. Andy has a long slow climb back to the point where he is comfortable tying his own show laces. Gah! It is horrible that a double Olympic gold medallist is in pain just tying his own laces before he is 33 years old. That’s tough. But he is a great Scot and real warrior..
