Scotland Best  Again

We Do it on Porpoise with New Stuff for 2018

Did you know that Scotland is one of the absolute best places to go whale and dolphin watching? Well blow me down me hearties so it is, I’ll put away the fake Long John Silver accent now- back away from the accent!  If you want to see a Humpback whale then the Firth of Forth is the place to go. If you want to take in some of the world’s most glorious sea mammals then travel no further. Of course there is always a survey as regular readers know and this one was for a sea foundation which records the number of whale and dolphin sightings across the United Kingdom.

Having a Whale of a Time

And guess what, Scotland’s coast came out on top last year with getting on for half of all the UK’s sightings. There were a massive 608 sightings of these magnificent beasties and that has to be a tiny per centage of the real numbers considering the volunteers perform their spotting duties with only binoculars or telescopes on land and a small boats out at sea.

 No Telescope Needed

Now you won’t needs a pair of binoculars to see the great new stuff we’ve got from the lovely people at Caithness Glass, they really know how to make glass look amazing! And it’s not just paperweights there are also lovely things like the Sentiments - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Dish – which of course is NEW. May your star always shine, I say! It is hand made in Scotland and will make a perfect gift for that special someone
