Gin Karma-
UK’s Most Popular Spirit Gets Horsey
As we learned last year gin has overtaken Scotch as the UK’s favourite tipple and now an Aberdeen gin maker has launched a new gin that is full of the spirit of the open field and redolent of saddles, horses and gymkhanas. The name gymkhana of course comes from the time of India and the Empire and most of us will have glimpsed one, even if we haven’t been to one - full of charging ponies ridden by dare devil little girls and the air of fiece competition. Well of course those little girls, and lots of boys to, grow up and want to be reminded of the hurly burly of the horse events. So enter the field , Ginkhana which is a new brand of gin.
Neigh Up
The heady brew is flavoured with horseyness inspired ingredients like local and exotic botanicals associated with horses; apples, carrots and meadow hay. And unlike the gymkhana it doesn’t mean a trip to the local A&E afterwards. According to those lucky souls who had a taken the gin for a canter it has the aroma hay from a summer meadow and the tang, is that the right word, of apple and carrots on the tongue? All of which are pretty refreshing when combined with the minty additions to the brew. It weighs in at 43% ABV and would make a handy addition to any drinks cabinet.
Add This to the Stable for Mother's Day
Now another handy addition to your drinks cabinet is on offer and it’s the Scottish Thistle Barrel tumblers are for a refreshing Gin & Tonic. The lovely shape makes it a joy to hold and enjoy your favourite tipple! Scottish Thistle is a classical hand cut wine suite with a beautiful and distinctive diamonds and Scottish Thistle design. Did I mention on offer and that Mother's Day is round the corner?!
