Gin and Tonic Eases Hay Fever-

The Perfect Summer Serve

Well, regular readers of this blog will know that I am a big fan of not only the national drink, but also gin. Gin is absolutely the drink of the moment, but it turns out it is also good for you. If you are like me and suffer from hay fever and numerous allergies and have to put up with the delights of nasal rinsing, please don’t ask, and anti-histamines all summer then you’ll be delighted with one of the latest studies to come out. Gin is good for you!

Not to Be Sneezed at

Hay fever sufferers get symptoms from mid-May onwards when the pollen counts creeps up, especially now we’ve gone from winter to summer missing out spring. And for those who get the watery eyes, itchy throat accompanied by sneezes well there is good news. Gin and tonic will likely ease your symptoms. Now millions of us suffer from these allergies in the UK and any good news is welcome I can tell you, but this more than most. Although at the moment my favourite gin drink is the Negroni which is 1 part Gin, 1 part Campari and  1 part sweet red Vermouth with a heap of ice. And I’ve just found out that August is home to Negroni Week, smashing. The Research was conducted by Asthma UK  and it says  that consuming clear spirits such as gin or vodka can reduce the symptoms of hay fever. And the opposite is true that beer and red wine can make it worse. Well I never! It’s those pesky sulphites again. Look them up- they are trouble.

Chin Chin!

Well that’s  all good news for gin drinkers and if you want the finest kind of glass ware to help you enjoy not only the reduction in symptoms, but the truly magnificent taste of a great gin we have some little lovelies for you and they are on offer.  I’ve written about them before they are the gin and tonic copa glasses.
