Bon Scott Statue on the Way

Fans of the late great AC DC Scottish born singer Bon Scott have had a whip round, or crowd funded as they say these days, and got enough money together for a statute to the lead singer of the largely Antipodean group. The singer was born in Forfar and lived in Kirriemuir and every year they hold a festival in his honour there, called nicely enough ‘the Bon fest.’

A Star Performer

Once voted as number one ‘Frontman’ ever by a rock magazine star man Bon was originally called Ronald Belford Scott, which was not so very rock’n roll. Back when he was called Ronald, he and his family emigrated to Australia; and for a while he was part of the Freemantle Scots Pipe Band - where he learned the bagpipes that feature on the song It’s a Long way to the Top. These pipes are also included in this tribute statue. The Statue was designed by Scots artist John McKenna, who also did the one of Jock Stein at Celtic Park.

A Star Tribute Act, Highway to Swell

Now we can’t do tributes to Scots rock and roll singers, but we can do tribute acts. For a fan of the band buy this number one hit a wonderful Caithness Glass Gold star for the Front Man or Woman in your life. As you know Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, don’t apply with our handsome gift and glassware, but we have knocked a tenner off it for you.  It’s a High Voltage gift.
