Record Breaker Queen Elizabeth
More Right Royal Offers
The Queen this month entered the record books as the longest serving monarch, but she also has a few other records under her crown.
Pictured Everywhere
She is the most photographed woman in the world. As she has been around as Queen for seven decades that’s a long time to be in the public eye. And she’s made many a day with a wave and a cheery hello.
She is the oldest female monarch in the world, the other contender Queen Margrethe II of Denmark weighs in nearly twenty years short.
To Coin a Phrase
A record number of countries, one hundred and sixteen to be exact, still have her portrait on their coinage or paper money, even if she is no longer the head of state there.
Longest Marriage in Royal History
And she’s been married to Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, for sixty eight years. Somebody just bought a slice of their wedding cake for five hundred pounds. I hope it was a Dundee cake! That’s a slice of royal history for some lucky person.
