Guiness World Record Scotch

Do you have space for a six foot tall whisky bottle in your home, well a Vietnamese businessman does? Admittedly he’s already got more than the odd dram, with a whisky collection valued at some £150m, so you wouldn’t want to drop one of his bottles. The bottle in question cost £1.1m and was sold at auction last year in the Nation’s capital. The vessel was filled with about 311 litres or about 550 pints of The Macallan single malt, aged for 32 years. Now it’s pricey but not beyond the means of a very determined Scotch connoisseur with each dram costing an eye watering £90 plus for each and every dram of the amber nectar.

The huge bottle features an equally huge label  on which 11 noted world explorer are celebrated, hence its name Intrepid and it has duly taken its place as certified Guinness Book of Records record holder. The Macallan is known as one of the favourite tipples of James Bond who generally drinks the brew. Indeed 007 and M, Judi Dench, were filmed having a dram of The Macallan Fine Oak 10 Year Old in  the 2012 SkyFall. A great recommendation I might say!
