Edinburgh Gets the Horn

Excuse the headline, but it’s one that I could not resist. For those who know the capital there’s a pair of unicorns on the parapet of the whisky experience just off the Edinburgh Esplanade and until very recently the beasties didn’t have horns. The building is a red brick edifice in the grandest style and built in mock Georgian Gothic as was the taste in the 19th century just a little bit before the founding of guess who? Yes James Pirie in St Andrews in 1890.

It’s a very fine red sandstone frontage but you could have once missed the unicorns atop of the building, but now thanks to a woodworking maestro who works at the whisky centre the unicorns now sport a pair of beautifully turned wooden horns. There’s a competition to name the beasts. I’m not going to spoil your enjoyment so if you want to conjure up a funny name yourself like Petey, please do, but I’m sure you’ll do better than me.

But there’s nothing funny about the magnificent 55% OFF for our barrel shaped flower of Scotland barrel shaped whisky tumblers with an incised thistle design from Royal Scot Crystal. These beauties come with free delivery and free gift wrapping when you tick the box at check out. And they come in a classy presentation box.
