The Countdown Has Begun

Now you might recognise how to say Happy Christmas in French or German from the above, but did you spot Zulu and Flemish. Well good for you! Yes it’s that time of year again where you have to start paying attention to those notices in the post office about the last days to post your letters and parcels at the least expensive rates and by goodness they creep up on you.

Last Posting Day

Well if you want it sent surface mail then the last posting day for Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, USA is the 13 October. Blimey I say, that was quick so if you want it sent that way then you’d better get your skates on and hurry down to the post office now.  Now you have until Tuesday 3 Novembe to send stuff surface mail to Cyprus, Eastern Europe, Greece, Iceland, Malta, Turkey, so you can breathe easier there. But if you want to send anything to British Forces, maybe that lovely hip flask for off duty then you’ve only got until Friday 27 November for any Operational BFPOs. That’s almost no time.

Mele Kalikimaka, Glædelig Jul, Hyvää Joulua, Bon Natale

You’ll no doubt recognise the  first of those Christmas greetings Hawaiian, followed by the Danish , Finnish and Corsican. But most of all you’ll want to say it in person to the ones you love in person and with feeling and  that’s why it’s the time of year to get your ducks in a row and choose those presents while there are some very special offers on before the Xmas season really hits. You’d could try THE FLOWER of SCOTLAND a hand cut range of giftware and stemware, expertly decorated with a flowing, intaglio thistle design. Hand cut by one of the most highly skilled intaglio craftsmen in these isles. Quite a few are on half price offer!
