I think the owner of a well known budget airline has been eating far too often at an all you can eat buffet. My favourite used to be a local Chinese restaurant which had a staggering array of goodies, and to be quite frank, not so goodies. Yes one of those eateries where you can watch the clientele stagger to their seat holding plates in danger of collapse from the weight of scran on the plate. Now an eastern European airline has offered the flying equivalent of an all you can eat buffet, an all you can fly in a year for a little less than £430 an annum.
It seems that some Asian and USA flyers get the same kind of offer, with a single fee getting you into the air for the whole 365 days. From September onwards, the subscribers will be able to travel to destinations in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Of course there is a catch, you can only do it three days ahead of the flight if there are available seats and you have to pay an administration fee of just under 10 euros. And at the time of writing just a little while after the launch announcement there seems to be very limited all you can fly subscriptions. Ho hum, perhaps it was all just to generate newspaper headlines. Would they be so cynical about value for money? I suspect it’s a possibility.
