Edinburgh Lights Up Despite Smoking Ban
Canopy of Light Delights Shoppers and Tourists
I was recently in Chartres in France on my honeymoon and saw this wonderful light show played against the ancient cathedral and noted buildings in the French town and was delighted when they decided to do similar things in Scotland’s capital city. Now every day until Christmas Eve they have a festival of light that brings the old city to life in a new way.
Royal Mile Gets Lit Up
Of course it’s sponsored, but we’ll draw a veil over that. It runs on the Royal Mile from the Tron Kirk to the City Chambers. It is already something that has set tongues wagging and people a lollygagging. I guess I’ll have to pop and see it myself.
Streets Thronged with Spectators
Already thousands of tickets have been snapped up by tourists and locals alike. The twenty minute show includes lights, seasonal music and carols and gives you a chance to stand in a crowd in the drizzle with your friends. It is running twice a day until the aforementioned Christmas Eve.
If you have already seen it or you don’t need to stand in the rain to feel Christmassy then why not pour yourself a nice tea or coffee and browse our super selection of Xmas goodies.
