We Deal in Delight - Not Disappointment
Crofters in Sutherland are starting to be a little bit disappointed. There was supposed to be a spaceport built on a crofter’s association site, but monied interests have weighed in and the possibility of the new launching pad are fast receding . The Highland peat bog was supposed to be home to the UK's first spaceport, but after six years of toing and froing it has come down to a lot of throwing. The site is on the A'Mhoine Peninsula. As the name bog suggests there isn’t a lot of anything there and now there won’t be a spaceport either. I’ve written before about the ideal nature of the far north of Scotland for the launching of satellites, but despite a deal of public money objectors and local land owners have put a spanner in the works. It had been hoped to entice high paying, high skilled jobs to the Highlands, but there’s many a slip between cup and lip in these public projects.
But we here at James Pirie don’t deal in disappointments; we deal in delight and at a pretty nippy price too. Even though it’s Christmas and everyone is sticking their prices up after a hard year, that’s not us. We have lots of half price offers and all you have to do is follow the star! Each of these specially chosen gifts is of great quality and our goods are very good goods indeed. I’ve selected a few modestly priced items.
