TV Star from Outlander Has Award Winning Whisky

Sam Heughan's TV Future is in Doubt

If you like Highland drama you’ll have been captured by the time travelling romance Outlander  which you can watch on those streaming services so popular now. But after numerous series the show is about to run its course, but not before the series producers have announced a new prequel series, which are all the rage at the moment  what with Game of Thrones currently morphing into House of the Dragon. I haven’t watched the dragon films yet, but I’ve recorded it on my Sky box, to binge it all at once soon as it’s finished broadcasting. (Otherwise the missus forgets the storyline and let’s face it keeping the marriage is more important than my getting shirty explaining something from last week for the third time)

The Outlander author, Canadian, Diana Gabaldon has revealed she has written a prequel book series about Jamie Fraser’s parents, which will be called Blood of My Blood and will cover Ellen and Brian’s romance before the events of the Outlander show. But fans of the Outlander hunk Sam Heughan who plays Jamie and the wistful Caitriona Balfe, who plays his wife Claire Fraser will be disappointed even in a time travelling series not to see them in Blood of My Blood as both have confirmed that they won’t be there. Indeed Sam Heughan fans, who has recently taken to the viral TikTok trend for teenage memories, will be shocked to hear he might soon be killed off in the original show having exhausted most of the character’s nine lives. Though if you are keen on Sam Heughan you can catch him in the Men in Kilts travel show, which is also on Starz and Prime.

Heughan,  the 42 year old star of Outlander,  has capitalised on his new fame and fortune by becoming a writer with one of the co-stars from the show and Men in Kilts star Graham McTavish, who played the villainous Dougal. Together they penned Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other which sold very, very well. Sam has also branched out into his own whisky brand which is cheekily called The Sassenach, which was Jamie Fraser’s nickname for his wife Claire, who is supposedly English in the TV series, but in real life she’s Irish! It’s earned big Sam lots of whisky awards, so I can feel a tasting coming on.

And if you feel like a tasting is coming on for you and a fine dram of the good stuff then you can get into the feel of the Outlanders period drama with our Jacobean Air Twist whisky glasses made as if they were about to appear in the show itself! These exquisite air twist whisky glasses which are a reproduction of a mid 18th century Jacobite Dram Glass. The air twists in the stem are created by making 4 pin pricks allowing in air, then the stems are twisted during manufacture to create a delicate air twist design within the stem.  I can just see Jamie in my mind’s eye lifting a dram in one to his lips. They are on special too: Half price!
