Summer Dragons, or Dragonflies?

If you are waiting for the return of the US blockbuster Game of Thrones to our screens in spring you will be well up on dragons and the struggles of Daenerys Targaryen, beautifully played by Emilia Clarke, to regain her birthright. It isn’t for everyone, but whatever your feelings about the series it is visually stunning and best of all filmed largely in Scotland and Northern Ireland. And it is these stunning landscapes that have been the inspiration for not dragons but dragonflies in, our new series of hand cut crystal wear Dragonfly.  The designs are both contemporary and timeless with the delicate grace of the dragonfly itself and the shimmering beauty of their flight.

Did you know that in Scotland alone 29 species of dragonfly have been seen? Indeed there are three species of dragonfly whose UK population is only found in Scotland, these are the Northern Damselfly, Azure Hawker and the Northern Emerald. And if you want see them here is handy link from  the British Dragonfly Society http://www.british-dragonflies.org.uk/content/where-see-dragonflies

But it will be a while before the weather gets warmer and you can pop off to the countryside and see them in real life, so why not cast an eye over these wonderful examples of the glassmaker’s art and bring a little summer into even the darkest winter day.

The Dragonfly collection is new for 2015 and currently has an irresistible half price offer making it possible to bring some sunshine into your life, or give summer to someone you care about.
