King Andrew Wins Again –

Second Title a Cause for Celebration

Well Milos wasn’t up to it and Andy was. It was a great day for Scottish sport and against the world’s strongest server. The bombs from Raonic were hurtling down towards the Dunblane man at 147 miles per hour and yet they came back over the net. My heart was in my mouth and I have to admit it didn’t help my language. But the proud Scot weathered the storms and unlike in the terrific semi final against Jo Wilfried Tsonga Andy didn’t get his serve broken. That moment when he mouthed, “There’s no way I am losing this match” to his box was classic and he didn’t.

 Summer Has Arrived

Now with the Open at Troon and the 145th British Open the summer is finally well under way, with the occasional spot of decent weather and a break in the clouds for the odd bit of good news. Although that comes with a caveat in that the last six opens at Troon have been won by Americans, despite the recent success of the Europeans on American soil, so fingers crossed for a Scots or british winner.
