Boxes, Boxes, Boxes –

Is Someone You Know Moving?

I was listening to the radio yesterday as I packed yet more boxes for the move to a new house and they mentioned a group. I thought it was the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but no it was a Scottish combo called the Red Hot Chilli Pipers!  And these boys play bagpipes and guitar to make classic pop and heavy metal music. Well that was a quick trip to YouTube for me to take a gander and have a listen to the boys. And they were awesome. You know how the skirl of the pipes and the clash of the drum gets the blood pumping faster through you, well it did that, but with cracking modern music; well if you count 1972 as modern. They did a version of Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water that was just outstanding. It was a bit sweaty mind you, as piping at that volume and speed is an endurance sport as well as a musical delight. You must give them a go.

Musing About Musing

Well that took my mind off the packing for a little while, but then I got to musing, well this is James’ Musings. It was about how we were going to manage in the new place with all the extra space that we are going to have, so we can have guests – something we haven’t been able to have up until now. Well home styling will take a step up after we have decorated and what not and we’ll need to give that serious thought. Then someone sent me a website called ‘Unhappy Hipsters,’ because we are moving to an ultra modern house. Well again that took an hour out of the day as I burst out laughing time after time at the jokes on the site. Mind you I only understood about half of them. I don’t qualify as a Hipster other than the modernist house; remember I just enjoyed pipers playing Smoke on the Water so my tastes are varied.

House Warming Presents with Presence

Although I suppose the exercise of taste is what separates us and sometimes unites us. And in our new pad, how hip is that expression, we’ll no doubt get the odd moving in present? And what represents good taste no matter for where and for whom? Well for me personally the idea that you can bring some of nature indoors is a great thing. And what better represents our planet’s nature than flowers, whether they be hipster thistles or beautiful blooms held in a piece of crystal art? Well you can just type in “vase” to the search engine on this site and find some glorious examples or you can have a recommendation - which is also on offer. It is the Flower of Scotland flared vase, lovely I think. You see I am a bit of a thistle myself. Now back to the boxes.
