As those of you who are regular readers of the Musings know I am an avid Sci-Fi fan and although I don’t take this as an excuse at the drop of a hat to dress up as a Storm Trooper from Star Wars, I prefer light sabers myself, I do understand those who want to dress up as their favourite character and hang out at Glasgow’s fifth annual Comic Con
Glasgow Played Host to 3,000 Sci-Fi Fans
More than 30,000 sci-fi fans attended this year's MCM Scotland Comic Con at the SECC in Glasgow where they met the small but highly talented Star Wars actor Warwick Davis and former Doctor Who the Hobbit actor Sylvester McCoy. It was a chance to get away from the humdrum and act out fantasy and possibly to meet the authors of their favourite books or characters from their favourite shows. Once upon a time comic conventions were for the nerdy few, but these event have definitely gone mainstream and many enjoy them, even if the bias is towards the fairly young giving chance to buy collectibles, Anime, Trading Card, Manga, DVD’s or try out the latest video games.
Growing Up and Getting Married
Well as you can see I think it is great to have an extended adolescence and most of us men do, but then there comes a time to settle down and a time to give one of those embarrassing best man speeches reminding every one of the groom’s misdeeds as a bachelor. Now we assume that all Best Man’s speeches are made with honest intentions to speed the way to the marital bed, without “The Bedding,” for you Game of Thrones fans, so you’ll want to reward the Best Man and the Groomsmen.
