No Flash in the pan

One of Scotland’ Best Loved and Rudest Cat to Retire

It was never a purrfect service at Lochinver Post Office, but it was a familiar one which gives the locals paws for thought. Flash the cat who has been showing his bottom to locals for the past 22 years is about to retire. This likeably grumpy top cat likes to sit on the counter at the post office, but only with his back to the customers. He has become something of a hit with Sutherland locals and tourists alike. The cat has seen lots of them over the years when just two families have run the post office since 1896, but now the post office is offski. It is moving into a local supermarket to allow it to extend its opening hours and offer additional services and the supermarket is no place for Flash and his posterior.

 When Cat-erday Comes

The feline is set for a comfy retirement at the post mistress’s house but we haven’t yet seen the back of him as his owner thinks that with so many fans around the world he will have visitors making the pilgrimage to see him for many moons to come.

Feline Friendly and Friendly Felines

Well here at James Pirie we are very moggy friendly and love the little beasties to bits, but not all f us have the space for a friend like Flash. For those who don’t or just want a lovely reminder of our feline friends then why not have a look at our purrfect cat lover’s collectibles. There are kittens there are cats, none of them will turn its back on you. Each of them beautifully made. Freckles is an especial favourite and it is all new as they say across the pond.
