Parking Bandits Beware-

Tricksy and Not Nice

If you ever park in a private car park you might have experienced rip-off Britain at its worst. Just ten years ago the number of private penalty notices for these car parks were a massive 687,000, but this year they have soared to an estimated 6.5 million which is amazingly high. New legislation has been passed aimed at rogue private parking firms, but you never know when you’ll be done. I remember I had left a piece of equipment at an office in the city and by the time I collected it and was ready to go I had been towed by one of these private cowboys. I was gone less than two minutes and the price was over £200. I have to tell you I was spitting bricks.

Nosey Parkers Want Your Info

The ease with which these creatures issue their demands for money is based on the willingness of the DVLA in Wales to give out driver and car information for money. From now on it may b e harder for private parking companies to access this information, but requests for driver info are a tsunami of information.   The DVLA earned millions from data requests and 3.2 million driver details were issued in the first half of the 2018/2019 financial year alone. It is a stupendous breach of trust I say because consumers have little or no confidence in these private hucksters with their questionable practices and no ease of appeal or overturning their nasty Parking Charge Notices. Private parking tickets, often called Parking Charge Notices, differ from council-issued Penalty Charge Notices and aren’t technically backed up by law try not paying though and you’ll wind up in trouble.

A Well of Calm

Well that’s enough of my beating the drum against these nefarious practices, and here at James Pirie we are a haven of trust and customer satisfaction in our old family run business. It’s one of the benefits of on line shopping that you avoid Parking Charge Notices, delays when travelling and traffic jams. Of course you’ll miss out on all that exercise running after the parking attendant and shouting at them, but maybe that’s just me. So for some tranquil browsing for Father’s Day can I suggest  the 4 Royal Scot Crystal - Flower of Scotland Large Crystal tumblers all in a presentation box, five star rated by our customers and currently half price.
