It’s almost upon us. The turkey has been bought and brave souls are trying to figure out how to cook the enormous bird without it drying up. My best suggestion is to take off the legs and cook them separately in the same oven for a much shorter time. Though a friend from Texas tell me that she cooks the turkey in a brown paper bag and covers the skin in loads of butter then cooks it in a moderate oven.
Unseasonal Postal Strikes
But, but, but the Christmas post strikes have just been announced and they are Friday 9 December, Sunday 11 December, Wednesday 14 December, Thursday 15 December, Friday 23 December and Saturday 24 December. Now here at James Pirie we have more than one way to skin a cat, so you mustn’t worry about parcels coming from us, but it is a reminder to avoid late shopping when things can and will go wrong.
