O Flower of Scotland-Sir Andy Triumphs Against the Odds
O flower of Scotland, the lion that is Sir Andy Murray. Fighting back against the ever so slightly obnoxious Thanasi Kokkinakis and a crowd that can be more than slightly biased being noisy and rude. The Flying Scotsman, I will leave no cliché under used here is a living marvel. The real Braveheart, with sinews of steely strength and to take Jurgen Klopp out of context: “ A mentality monster” has triumphed again. Oh wonder of Dunblane.
The 35year old Sir Andy Murray, a former world #1 with a metal hip, who played 5 hours on court against the Italian Berrettini just two days ago has come back, Lazarus-like from the near dead, to thump Thanasi Kokkinakis 4-6, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the second longest ever Australian Open tennis match. It was 5 hours and 45 minutes and they finished sometime after 4am, local time, in the morning. Jings I say, the man’s a treasure and he now staggers very tiredly into the third round. He was two sets down and looked as if an early flight home was on the cards, when he took himself in hand and started to knock seven bells out of the Aussie, who was no gentleman on court, berating the female umpire at length.
O Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
Your likes again
This requires a celebration and being on the frugal side myself I can recommend some beautiful champagne glasses as they are on half price offer, so you can toast Sir Andy until the cows come home and hope that Thanasi Kokkinakis learns to be a bit more humble against one of the greatest of all time. These are half price and they are Glencoe - 2 Crystal Champagne Glasses in a black presentation box from .Royal Scot Crystal. It’s only while stocks last mind! Go Sir Andy!
