American Eagle owls which can kill deer have been seen in Scotland. These large creatures can  attack dogs and deer and are threatening to other wildlife are a new menace.

The eagle owls, which can grow to 3ft tall and are not native to Scotland, recently they have been spotted in Moray, the Black Isle and very worryingly in Edinburgh.

There are fears the owls will greatly reduce native birds and animals. The bird nasties are being released into the wild by people who believe they used to live in Scotland until they were wiped out by gamekeepers in the 19th Century. A spokesman for the RPB said: “They are great birds in the right place but that place is not Scotland. “

But you can rest certain that our owls are native to the land and beautifully captured forever. Forty years ago Border Fine Arts was founded in Langholm, in the very heart of Borders countryside. Wildlife and country scenes along with the breathtaking landscapes of rolling hills and sparkling streams have provided inspiration for a team of talented sculptors.
