Piping Live Glasgow – A Week of Pipes and Drums
Piping Live Glasgow –
A Week of Pipes and Drums
The good folks of the Alloa Bowmar Pipe Band set the week off to a grand start with stirring tunes from the steps of the Royal Concert Hall. And over the week some 50,000 people will enjoy the skirl of the pipes and the swish of the tartan in this the world’s large piping convention.
From All Over the Globe
Pipers from across the globe have made the pilgrimage to Scotland and there will be some 200 events in the week, so if you’ve not seen it yet pop out and a take a gander at these terrifically talented musicians. So if you pop down to George Square you’ll catch many of them and they’ll tell you about where others are.
The Lone Piper Here
Now we don’t have a host of musical offerings like George Square but we do have something quintessentially Scottish in the Caithness Glass limited edition, The Lone Piper. I’ve blooged about it before. It is a beauty, soulful and pure.
