Baby Blues and Pinks

Celebrate a New Arrival in Style

If you haven’t yet been introduced to the joys of Eurosport broadcasting then you aren’t a fully clued up Murray brothers fan. Because I was watching the round of the Davis cup on that channel , GB against Japan when the Braveheart Scottish brothers once more came up trumps to seal a quarterfinal against the dreaded Serbians, in Belgrade.

Oh No Not Novak!

You’ll have read before about my admiration for the Dunblane duo and so it’s no surprise I am already reserving my spot on the sofa for the next round, although I did shock my wife a little by shouting “shotgun!” at the end of the Nishikori match. She thinks since it is just her and me at the moment it was a bit previous, but the best spot on the sofa isn’t to be lost easily.

A Girl Called Sophia

I was also pleased to see that the Murrays had named their latest addition SOPHIA, which is a terrific name – coming from the Greek meaning wisdom, which is great as long as it isn’t associated with teeth. We are all looking forward to the baby’s first public appearance, but I bet a fiver the girl’s middle name won’t be Judy. And among the greatest places in the world, go see the church of Saint Sophia in Istanbul.

New Baby – New Ideas

If you are lucky enough to have a new baby in the family or among your friends then consider a gift that will last longer than the colic. We just took stuff to storage of Tuesday and among the detritus of modern living was a battered teddy bear and some christening gifts that were too precious to lose forever. Don’t worry Teddy, we will be back to rescue you soon.
