Black Friday Blues: Are You Hungry for a Bargain?
Black Friday Queues: Are You Hungry for a Bargain?
Are you good at queuing? Do you think Black Friday is more important than ever as we go into a tough winter in a cost of living crisis? Then expect bargains to be the target of competitive shoppers and perhaps even some unruly behaviour. We all remember times when Black Friday events got out of hand. In one incident a few years ago Greater Manchester police said three people were arrested, one woman suffered a broken wrist while a wheelchair-user had a TV dropped on her. And don’t mention the security guard who was punched after disturbances were reported at seven separate Tesco stores in the northwest. But despite that Black Friday just grows and grows as shoppers are hungrier than ever for a bargain, as I am sure are the lovely customers of James Pirie.
Christmas is Coming: Look at the TV Ads
And Christmas is coming earlier this year as retailers expect consumers to be more strapped for cash and the festive adverts that mark the period are being brought forward almost a month early. M&S have their Xmas ad to premier before Gogglebox this Friday and instead of a soppy story, or an all singing and dancing extravaganza it features local communities reaching out to help each other and it is directed by the man who brought us The Greatest Showman, which a friend of ours strangely thinks is a wonderful film. Personally it’s not my cup of PG Tips, no pipers for one thing! The ad features a Bolton brass band, a Bengali dance troupe, a biker group of former soldiers and emergency workers, but it’s all meant to shift ’stuff’ and I have no problems with that at all.
Beat Black Friday Blues
And we can safely let you beat the Black Friday queues here on-line at James Pirie where there are bargains galore. We have our own pre-Black Friday promotion to get those bargain hunting juices flowing it’s in a new range called Glencoe which is a lyrical looking deep cut classical diamond and fan hand cut design. As all know the glen is haunted by a tragic history, so much so that Glencoe is sometimes referred to as the ‘Weeping Glen.’ It is an awe inspiring place of natural grandeur. The romance of the Highlands breathes in its steep sides and heady waterfalls, no wonder it inspired our glass masters. If you buy now they are half price, beautifully presented and can be gift wrapped.
