Andy Murray 's High Jinks
Well Lady Kim and Sir Andy Murray certainly know how to go about a top notch, or should I say ace, family Christmas. They had that grand old lady of the kitchen Mary Berry show up and film a Christmas cooking special at their Cromlix Hotel in Scotland. They bought it the year of Andy’s first Wimbledon win in 2013, I remember it well my missus was in the crowd and she fainted from the heat. It’s a red-head thing I guess. It’s where the couple tied the knot themselves in 2015, but according to their website it’s long been a key venue for the family, what with a silver, gold and diamond wedding celebrations and another two Murray weddings. It’s a veritable home from home.
Now those of you who know a bit about Andy will know that he can be a tiny bit mischievous when he wants. He’s forbidden to touch the hotel’s giant Christmas tree, décor and the like is absolutely Kim’s domain. But while Mary Berry and while Shirley, Andy's granny, made some super special shortbread to an ancient family recipe, Sir Andy tried to sneak a tennis ball to the top of the monster Christmas tree. Unfortunately for Andy he double faulted and Kim’s eagle eye spotted the bright green ball from the umpire’s chair and she called it out!
Sir Andy and his coach Ivan Lendl have recently ended their partnership for a third time. It wasn’t to be third time lucky for 36 year old Murray and the Great Scot is now in the twilight of a marvellous career, but he has many interests as well as a complete brood of kids to keep him up to the mark and we wish him and Kim a wonderfully successful new year.
And if you want a terrific Christmas there is still time to get both a bargain and a wonderful present from James Pirie where we have Christmas All Wrapped Up!
