Prices and Currencies
All prices can be displayed in either Pounds GB, Euros or US Dollars. VAT is included in all Pounds GB and Euro prices, but excluded from US Dollar prices.
Euro and US Dollar prices are displayed simply as an approximate guide to enhance the shopping experience of our customers. Whichever currency is selected, payment will always be made in Pounds GB, the actual total cost of the order being calculated according to the rate of exchange at the time of payment. Thus, the actual cost of each order is likely to differ slightly from the Euro or US Dollar total shown in the customer's shopping basket.
Tax Free Shopping
VAT will be deducted from all orders despatched to delivery addresses outside the European Union. Please note that VAT will still be included in the shopping basket (unless US Dollars are selected), but the VAT element will be deducted by us on receipt of your order.
Security
Your credit card / debit card details are encrypted using industry standard 128 bit encryption and stored on a secure server. They are erased permanently once your order has been processed.
Debiting your Credit / Debit Card
We will not take payment from your credit / debit card until your order is ready to be dispatched.
Payment by Cheque or Postal Order
Owing to the high cost or processing cheques and postal orders received from outside the UK, we regret that this form of payment is acceptable only from our customers in the UK. The order will not be dispatched until the cheque or postal order has cleared, so please allow extra time for this.
Back Orders
If an item is not in stock, we will back order this for you or suggest an alternative, but we will always contact you by e-mail to advise you of the situation and provide you with the option of cancelling your order.
Dispatch Times
We aim to dispatch all orders within 2 working days of receipt of your order.
Shipping
For orders to delivery addresses in the UK or the USA, the cost of shipping is calculated according to the contents of the customer's shopping basket and is based on the actual cost of shipping and packing. For orders to delivery addresses outside the UK or USA, shipping will be charged at cost and communicated to the customer by e-mail after receipt of the order. The customer may then proceed with the order or cancel it without penalty.
Cancellation
You may cancel your order by writing to us by post or e-mail within seven working days of receipt of the goods by you. You must then return the goods to us within fourteen days at your expense in an undamaged, unused and unopened condition. We will refund the cost of your order subject to deduction of the original shipping cost plus a nominal handling charge of £5.00 GBP + VAT. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Damaged or Defective Items
Damaged or defective items will be replaced at our expense, failing which a full refund will be made.

Direct Mailing and Privacy Policy
We operate a free mailing list. Your details will only be added to the mailing list with your consent. If you are not a member already, you can join by completing the short registration form on our mailing list page. You will also be invited to add your details when using our e-mail enquiry form or sending an order. We do not share customers' details with any third parties and we undertake to remove your details on request. All information received is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Any query re direct mailing or privacy should be forwarded to privacy@jamespirie.com.
Complaints Procedure
While we aim to avoid complaints by providing a quality service, we recognise that an essential part of any quality service is the provision of an effective complaints procedure. Complaints should be forwarded by e-mail to complaints@jamespirie.com. Complaints should be made within seven days of the complaint first arising. We will endeavour to respond within five working days, with the intention of resolving all complaints fairly, confidentially, effectively and speedily.
